Champagne

Champagne Brut Cuvée                                                                                                                     $120

Piper-Heidsieck, Champagne, France

Created in 1785, Piper Heidsieck is one of the top international champagne brands, and

one of the most awarded. This wine in particular, was awarded 90pts by the prestigious

Wine Spectator magazine and a Gold Medal at Mondial de Bruxelles in 2006. The blend

is predominantly Pinot Noir, with small amounts of Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay included

for complexity. The second fermentation (to create the bubbles) lasts for over 21 months,

developing the right amount of toastiness and elegant finesse on the finish. Aromas and

flavours of citrus, pear, and Granny Smith apples, with notes of pineapple and spices on the

finish. Good acidity and a lively finish. A great aperitif wine, to celebrate a special event,

or to enjoy with medium-bodied dishes like chicken or seafood.

perfecting the method of making champagne, and introducing it to the French elite in the

17th century.  A blend of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir grapes, and only released

in outstanding vintages. Stylish with aromas of citrus, artisanal bread, green apple, and fresh

pear.  Dry and vibrant on an elegant palate.

indigenous Spanish grapes instead of the traditional champagne grapes. Rich, toasty

citrus aromas and flavours, very dry, medium-bodied, and refreshing.  A great aperitif

wine, or with appetizers or medium-bodied dishes like seafood.
